APCOP-V is committed to creating a supportive and safe environment for everyone, regardless of background or identity. All participants must adhere to the APCOP-V Code of Conduct, their employer’s policies on workplace behaviour, and applicable laws.
Communications and interactions should be appropriate for a professional setting. Participants are expected to treat others with consideration and respect, both in speech and actions. Harassment, including sexist, racist, or exclusionary comments or jokes, is unacceptable.
Harassment includes persistent contact after a request to stop, disruption of events, inappropriate physical contact, sexual advances or innuendo, intentional intimidation, stalking, and unauthorized photography or recording. It also encompasses offensive remarks related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, appearance, body size, race, or religion. Advocating for or encouraging such behaviour is also prohibited.
All participants are expected to respect the larger community of The University of Queensland and Brisbane, and prohibited from intentionally causing damages to properties at all event venues and their surroundings.
Unacceptable behaviour, including demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing conduct, or act of vandalism at any event venues, will not be tolerated. Individuals asked to cease inappropriate behaviour must comply immediately. The Organising Committee may take appropriate action, from issuing a warning to expulsion from APCOP-V without a refund.
If you experience harassment, notice someone else being harassed, or have other concerns, please contact a member of the Organising Committee right away.
The Organising Committee is available to assist with contacting venue security, local law enforcement, or providing support to ensure a safe experience throughout the conference.
